Series 1 began in May 18, 2013 with a judging lineup of M.I Abaga, Onyeka Onwenu and Reggie Rockstone and hosted by Tolu Oniru. This season was eventually won by 29-year-old DJ Switch who was mentored by M.I Abaga in the Over 23s category.
