The X Factor USA was the American version of The X Factor and ran for three seasons on FOX. It was cancelled due to poor ratings.

Series 1[]

Series 1 began in September 21, 2011 with a judging lineup of Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and LA Reid and hosted by Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger. After a few auditions Cowell decided to axe Cole, so a producer went backstage and told her, Scherzinger (the original host) replaced her. This season was eventually won by 19-year-old Melanie Amaro who was mentored by Simon Cowell in the Girls category.
Series 2[]

Series 2 began in September 12, 2012. Paula Abdul nor Nicole Scherzinger returned to judge and were replaced by Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, LA Reid and Simon Cowell stayed. Mario Lopez replaced Steve Jones as host. This season was eventually won by 37-year-old Tate Stevens who was mentored by LA Reid in the Over 25s category.
Series 3[]

Series 3 began in September 11, 2013. LA Reid nor Britney Spears returned to judge and were replaced by Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio, Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell stayed. Mario Lopez returned as host. This season was eventually won by mixed vocal duo Alex & Sierra who were mentored by Simon Cowell in the Groups category. Following this, the show was cancelled due to poor ratings.
