Next Season 2

Season 1 of The X Factor Australia ran from 6 February 2005 to 15 May 2005 on Network Ten.

It was won by RnB boy band Random who were mentored by Mark Holden in the Groups category. They disbanded a couple of years later after releasing an album and two singles.

Due to poor ratings the network cancelled the show until 2010.

Production[]

For this season only those who passed the auditions were put through masterclasses and judges' houses before reaching the live shows. This season was hosted by Daniel MacPherson, best known for starring in Australian soap opera Neighbours.

This was the first and only series to feature three judges on the judging panel.
