The Risk were a four-member British male pop vocal group initially consisting of Ashley Baptiste (born 1990), Andy Merry (born 2 April 1991), Derry Mensah (born 10 September 1990) Marlon McKenzie (born 8 September 1983) and Mitchell McPike (born 21 September 1991). Charlie Healy (born 26 June 1986) was brought into the band, while Marlon and Mitchell were removed from the group at judges houses stage of the competition. Original member Ashley Baptiste had decided to leave the band prior to the start of the fourth live show and was replaced by Ashford Campbell (born 30 November 1992), who had previously been a member of the group Nu Vibe.
They participated in Series 8 of The X Factor UK as art of the Groups category mentored by Tulisa Contostavlos.
They were eliminated from the competition in Week 5, finishing in 10th place.
