Slavko Kalezic (born 4 October 1985) is a singer and actor from Montenegro who partook in two series of the X Factor, X Factor Adria (Season 1) and The X Factor UK (Series 14) , participating in the Overs Category and reaching the Judges' Houses on both occasions, mentored and eliminated by Željko Joksimović in the former and Nicole Scherzinger in the latter.
Kalezic often uses a fake 1 metre long ponytail when performing, and is renowned for a highly homoerotic and genderfluid style, despite the cultural conservativism in Montenegro.
In both countries, Kalezic's audition song was "End of Time" by Beyonce. In the Adria series (which involves acts from all former Yugoslav countries), it was followed up by "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk and "Cosmic Girl" by Jamiroquai, before "Ljuljaj me nezno" (lit: Rock Me Gently) by Oliver Mandic was performed at the Judges' Houses stage where Kalezic was eliminated.
In the UK Series, after singing "End Of Time", Kalezic covered "Where Have You Been" by Rihanna during the bootcamp, despite the ponytail failing off during the performance, than "Little Bad Girl" by David Guetta ft Taio Cruz and Ludacris at the Six Chair Challenge, and "On the Floor" by Jennifer Lopez at the Judges' Houses stage, which took place in South Africa, where the elimination was repeated.
Trivia[]
- Louis Walsh recruited Kalezic to audition for Series 14, of the back of representing Montenegro at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, when supporting his home country's act Brendan Murray (who would later participate in The X Factor UK (Series 15)) at the same time (in the same song contest, The X Factor UK (Series 6) contestant Lucie Jones represented the UK with more success than Murray or Kalezic). Kalezic had sang the English-Language song "Space", infamous for some incredibly homoerotic lyrics (such as an open mention of "wet dreams" in the second line) and large levels of Double Entendre, on behalf of the Adriatic country, but failed to qualify from the first semi final, and also won the unofficial Dex Prize for worst dressed contestant.
- Kalezic has played roles in 4 movies in Serbia and Montenegro, including as a Roman, and as a fake prostitute.
- Kalezic has released predominately English-language music since 2015, having usually released own language music beforehand.
