Simone Battle (born 17 June 1989 -- 5 September 2014) was an American singer. She participated in Season 1 of The X Factor USA as part of the Girls category mentored by Simon Cowell.
She was eliminated from the competition in Week 1 via a quintuple elimination, finishing in a five-way 13th place tie alongside four other acts. In lieu of receiving votes during the first live show, each mentor had to cut one act from their category to whittle down their numbers. In Cowell's instance, he had to eliminate two because of the last-minute comeback addition of Melanie Amaro inflating the category's amount. Hence, Battle and Tiah Tolliver were each axed that night.
