Shayne Thomas Ward (born 16 October 1984) is an English pop singer. He auditioned for Series 2 of The X Factor UK and made it all the way to the final as part of the 16-24s category mentored by Louis Walsh.
Due to the eliminations of Phillip Magee, Chenai Zinyuku and Nicholas Dorsett, Ward was the only act left in his category. He was crowned the winner defeating Andy Abraham from the Over 25s category mentored by Sharon Osbourne.
In 2019, it was announced that Ward will participate in The X Factor All Stars series. The series was later axed.

Following his win, his winner's single was released and went on to claim the Christmas #1 spot, spending a total of four weeks at the summit. As of 2018, it remains the fastest-selling winner's single as well as third fastest-selling single of all time.
Over a music career spanning nine years, he released four studio albums, which peaked in the UK Top 20, including one #1 album. In 2011, he was officially dropped by Syco Music.
In 2015, he signed on to star in long-running soap opera Coronation Street before leaving in May 2018.
Trivia[]
- In 2013, when his previous mentor Louis Walsh was assigned the Boys category after being assigned the Groups and Overs categories for many years, many people, including Louis, claimed the last time he had the category, he won with Shayne, although Shayne was in the 16-24s category in his year. This could be since Shayne was a young man in his season and the majority of Louis's acts that year were males and only had 1 female.
- Up until James Arthur's comeback in 2016, Shayne was considered by many the most successful male solo winner from the The X Factor UK, especially since he was able to stay on Simon's label longer than most male winners, who would normally stay for at least 2 years before being dropped.
