Samantha Jayne "Sam" Lavery (born 3 September 1999) is an English singer from Durham who competed in Series 13 of The X Factor as part of the Girls category mentored by Simon Cowell.
She was originally eliminated at the Six Chair Challenge but chosen by Louis Walsh as a wildcard. She fell into the bottom three in Week 5 but was saved by the lifeline vote. She was eliminated in Week 6 after losing the sing-off to Boys category member Ryan Lawrie mentored by Nicole Scherzinger thus finishing in 7th place.

Post The X Factor[]
In early 2017, it was reported that she had begun working on her own music. In May 2017 she released her first single 'Walk Away'. In October 2017, she released her second single 'Beat of You'.
In October 2018, it was announced via Twitter that she will be starring in the 2019 UK run of Green Day's "American Idiot" musical as Whatsername. The show will also feature Series 10 finalist Luke Friend.

- In Week 5, Saara Aalto and Four of Diamonds received more votes than Lavery in the main public vote. This meant that if there was not a lifeline vote, Lavery would have faced Four of Diamonds in the sing-off and in that scenario, if the result went to deadlock, Lavery would have been eliminated.
