Paula Julie Abdul (born 19 June 1962) is an American singer, record producer, dancer, choreographer, actress and television personality. She was one of four judges on Season 1 of the The X Factor USA. She mentored the Groups category, and her four finalists were The Brewer Boys, InTENsity, Lakoda Rayne and The Stereo Hogzz.
Abdul announced on January 30, 2012 that she would not be returning to The X Factor USA for its second season.
She served as a guest judge during the Series 3 auditions of The X Factor in 2006 and assisted Simon Cowell as a guest judge at Judges' Houses for Series 15 of The X Factor in 2018.
