Matthew Sheridan Cardle (born 15 April 1983) is an English singer. He auditioned for Series 7 of The X Factor UK and made it all the way to the final as part of the Boys category mentored by Dannii Minogue.
Due to the eliminations of Nicolò Festa, Aiden Grimshaw and Paije Richardson, Cardle was the only act left in his category. He was crowned the winner defeating Rebecca Ferguson from the Girls category mentored by Cheryl Cole.
