Laura Pausini (born 16 May 1974) is an Italian singer and songwriter with a 25-year career in music to her name. Her big break came by way of her victory in the newcomers' section of the 1993 Sanremo Music Festival with her song "La solitudine". Later in the year she released her eponymous debut album, which found chart success in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. By 1999 she made her first break into the Spanish-language market with "Mi respuesta", counterpart of her third Italian-language album, "La mia risposta". Both "Mi respuesta" and follow-up "Entre tú y mil mares" (released along the Italian-language "Tra te e il mare" in 2000) peaked within the top 10 in Spain's charts. And so, by 2004, Pausini had sold 25 million records worldwide despite the disappointing performance of her first English-language effort, "From the Inside", in 2002. In 2006, she won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for "Escucha", becoming the first Italian artist to ever win a Grammy.ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

In 2018 she joined the panel of judges for the third series of the revived Factor X Spain. By this point, her experience as a talent show juror included the Mexican and Spanish versions of The Voice, as well as both seasons of La Banda.
