Kate Thornton (born 7 February 1973) is an English television presenter best known for being the first presenter of The X Factor, which she hosted from its inception until 2006. She was then replaced by Dermot O'Leary.

In 2019, a video of Kate being groped by Chris Moyles while particpating in The X Factor: Battle of the Stars resurfaced. Similar to the case with Louis touching Mel's bum back in 2014, many fans claimed how Chris got away with inappriately grabbing Kate's ass. Kate also look uncomfortable with Chris touching her. Even Xtra present Ben Shephard joked about the incident on his show.
