The remaining 25 acts made it through to the Judges' Houses. Barlow mentored the Over 28s, Scherzinger the Boys, Tulisa the Girls, and Louis the Groups. Cheryl Cole joined Barlow in Northamptonshire, Ne-Yo assisted Scherzinger in Dubai, Tulisa was accompanied by Tinie Tempah in Saint Lucia, and Walsh was assisted by Sharon Osbourne in Las Vegas. At judges' houses each act performed two songs for their mentor and his/her guest judge, although only one song was mentioned and shown on the main show, with the other song shown on The Xtra Factor UK instead.
Rough Copy were originally put through to judges' houses, but were withdrawn from the contest after getting through bootcamp because group member Kazeem "Kaz" Ajobo had a visa application which was being considered by the UK Border Agency. There had been fears that if he travelled abroad during the judges' houses stage, the Nigerian-born 23-year-old from South London may struggle to re-enter the UK. They were replaced by Times Red and Union J (originally Triple J).
