Dermot O'Leary (born 24 May 1973) is an English television and radio presenter who is best known as the host of The X Factor UK, replacing original host Kate Thornton who hosted the show from 2004 to 2006.

He hosted the show from 2007 to 2014 before leaving to focus on his radio career.  In 2015, he was replaced by Olly Murs and Caroline Flack but returned again for Series 13 after their presenting attracted much criticism.

  • On a recap show, he mentioned Rylan Clark's breakdown at Judges' Houses when he got through to the live shows as his all-time favorite moment from that part of the show.
  • He mentioned in a Twitter Q&A that James Arthur's winning moment is his all-time favorite winning moment from any series.
